B i o g r a p h y

Tarik Ghirardella is an American composer of orchestral, vocal, and chamber works.

Born in 1969, Ghirardella has worked both as a concert composer and a studio drummer.

 

Pulling from all styles including classic/progressive rock and classical, Ghirardella writes music that embodies a rich, approachable style, full of depth and intrigue. His music proves to take the listener on a journey that is worth experiencing from beginning to end.

 

Comfortable in both the music studio and the concert hall, Ghiradella is a comprehensive composer and performer. A multilayered musician and composer who has a deep understanding of both worlds.

 

Ghiradella has written for the American Heroes Channel T.V. series Gunslingers, The American String Quartet, The Astoria Symphony, The Greensboro philharmonia and the Round rock symphony, among others.  His song cycle Songs From the Front Porch (text by Annette Noriane) were featured in the October 2000 Classical Singer magazine.  Ghiradella’s haunting piece Cenotaph was premiered by conductor Silas Huff and the Astoria Symphony and was given honorable mention by Aaron Kernis and the Minnesota Orchestra Composer Institute.  More recently the Round Rock Symphony commissioned and premiered his American Panoramas for orchestra. Ghiradella studied at the Manhattan School of Music with Richard Danielpour and George Tsontakis and at SUNY Purchase.
